This week, we were allowed to witness another sign of the restoration being effected here – a ceremony based on Leviticus 19:23-25:
“When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised. Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you. It shall not be eaten. But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a praise to the Lord. And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, that it may yield to you its increase: I am the Lord your God.”
Many local Rabbis and residents came to the vineyard to bless the harvest and set it apart as holy, in celebration of a new field of vines that is now in its fourth year! God’s people were unable to keep this Torah commandment in its fullness, outside the Land, but in His faithfulness, He is keeping his promise to bring them back to serve Him in the Land! The ceremony included much gratitude to the Father and rejoicing in the abundance He is bringing forth from the Land of the promise.
