A Brief History of Israeli Wines – and what it has to do with you

Most people have no clue about Israeli wine. Do you?

When you think of world-class wine, what country comes to mind? France? Italy? Spain?

2,000 years ago, Israel was actually known as the wine capital of the world. When the Romans conquered Israel in the first century A.D. and exiled the Jewish people, they also uprooted the vines and took them to regions of Italy and France. In the centuries since, Western Europe has become famous for the world’s best wine.

But in the last few decades, something new has been taking place. Just as God promised in Scripture, the agriculture and specifically the vineyards, are returning to Israel (see Jeremiah 31 and Amos 9).

The wines coming from these vineyards are beginning to win top medals in prestigious international competitions (such as the 2019 Decanter World Wine Awards).

The problem is that many of these top-notch wines are not available outside of Israel yet.

Everyone should be able to enjoy these prophetic wines at an affordable price––and support Israel as they do!
