Don’t Touch the Apple of God’s Eye
by Ben Hilton
For several years now President Donald Trump and his team have been working on an Israeli Palestinian peace plan that involves the creation of a Palestinian State in major portions of Judea and Samaria. President Trump chose to release the details of his plan on January 28th, 2020. Many countries around the world responded to this plan with either their support or by expressing their commitment to the idea of a Palestinian State in all of Judea and Samaria. Among these countries were China, Iran, and the European Union.
On January 30th, just two days after Trump made his official announcement about the Deal of the Century, the World Health Organization officially declared the CoronaVirus as a global health emergency. I would be tempted to write this off as a mere coincidence, a random meeting of circumstances, and it may be. But, could it be possible that this might be God’s answer to the proposal of dividing His land? Whether it is or not, there does seem to be a compelling pattern throughout our history to this effect. Take these few incidents for example:
On March 26th, 1979, Jimmy Carter facilitated a peace treaty between the nations of Israel and Egypt. Details of the treaty involved Israel giving up the entire Sinai Peninsula to Egypt, evacuating several Israeli communities in the process. Two days later on March 28th, Dauphin County Pennsylvania experienced a partial meltdown of one of their nuclear reactors, resulting in significant radiation leaks. The incident was so severe, it was awarded a five point out of seven rating on the international nuclear event scale.
On October 20th, 1991, George H. Bush facilitated an international conference for Middle East peace. Ten days later, what became known as the “Perfect Storm,” a hurricane, struck the North American coastline from Canada all the way down to Puerto Rico. 38,000 people were left without power and damages from the storm mounted to over 200 million dollars.
On August 23rd, 1992, George H. Bush moved the peace talks to Washington for four days, setting the framework for the Oslo Accords, an agreement that awarded Palestinian sovereignty to large swaths of land in Judea and Samaria. The very next day Hurricane Andrew made landfall on the coast of Florida damaging 63,000 homes and causing 23 billion dollars worth of damages.
On January 16th, 1994, President Bill Clinton held talks with President Assad of Syria about a peace agreement with Israel that would involve Israel giving up possession of the Golan Heights. The very next day a 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck the San Fernando Valley in California. The earthquake became the largest earthquake ever to be recorded in an urban area in North America and caused 35 billion dollars worth of damages.
In September, 1998, the Clinton Administration was once again in the process of drafting a plan for a Palestinian state, only this one would involve Israel surrendering 13% of Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Shortly afterward in mid-September, hurricane George struck America’s southern border causing over 14 billion dollars worth of damages.
On April 23rd, 2003, the George W. Bush administration released a document called the Roadmap to Peace. Once again this document was aimed at the establishment of a Palestinian State. The very same day the document was released, tornados began forming over several states. Over the course of the next two weeks, states across America were hit with over 400 consecutive tornados, causing over three million dollars in damages.
In 2005, the Israeli government decided to remove all Jewish settlers out of Gaza and several communities in Northern Samaria. This was done with the strong support of the Bush administration. The deadline for the settlers to be out of their homes was August 15th. Ten days later, Hurricane Katrina made landfall in Florida destroying 800,000 homes and causing 125 billion dollars in damages.
On May 19th, 2011, Barack Obama officially called on the Israeli government to create a Palestinian State and return to pre-1967 borders. Three days later, Missouri was hit with the deadliest tornado ever recorded in U.S. history, costing nearly 3 billion dollars in damages.
And now we come to today, when our current president is calling once again for the creation of a Palestinian State and the dividing of God’s land. Is the coronavirus a link or a mere coincidence? We will probably never know for sure. But what we do know is what God says in Genesis 12:3:
“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (NKJV)
God takes the dividing of His land very seriously. We are, and always will be, held accountable for how we treat the nation of Israel. I am calling on all of us to encourage our president not to be a part of dividing the land of Israel, not now or ever.
“For whoever touches you, touches the apple of His eye.”
Zechariah 2:8 (NKJV)
