We at HaYovel work together toward the goal of having all of our funds go to specific projects in Israel, but in order to do that, we need to fully fund our annual administrative budget. Monthly donors already account for a large percentage of our annual administrative costs, but we are still about 30% short.
In total, our 2017 expenses were $1,442,725:
Better Business Bureau’s advice to donors is that a non-profit’s program expenses should be at least 65% of their total expenses. Since 74.7% of our expenses are going straight towards our cause, that means that we are 10% higher than the BBB recommends!
This is especially exciting, because, as a non-profit that works internationally, we have more administrative costs than most non-profits. Just flights and international travel costs make up a quarter of the “Management & General” section of this chart. If you drop that, our “Straight to Cause” percentage is 80%.
